John Terry Golf Charity Day

On 9th October 2025, former Chelsea and England captain John Terry hosted his charity golf day at London Golf Club, bringing together players, guests and supporters in aid of the Red Eagle Foundation. By the end of the day more than £40,000 had been raised for the cause.

We were delighted to be part of it. Out on the 18th hole we set up the Bertie Boucher Challenge: every guest was handed a Bertie Boucher putter and given one chance to hole the putt. Sink it, and a fully customised putter of their own was theirs to keep.

Six golfers managed it across the day, including a former Olympian and a former professional footballer now well known as a broadcaster. Plenty of others came agonisingly close — the greens at London Golf Club were not giving much away.

John himself couldn't resist a go. Normally a left-handed golfer, he decided to take on the challenge right-handed just for the fun of it, and to the delight of everyone watching he pushed his attempt narrowly past the edge of the hole.

The evening carried the momentum on with a Q&A hosted with John, covering his career, his competitive streak and plenty of stories from the dressing room. A bespoke Bertie Boucher putter also went under the hammer in the charity auction, selling for £400 and adding to the day's impressive total.
